Title: Expo Power (haha, original, right?)
Post by: Expopower on July 12, 2010, 07:08:32 pm
Name: Expo Power (Note that the surname is Power, not Powers. No relation to Will Powers.)

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Occupation: Defence Attorney

Personality: Primarily quiet and reserved, Expo generally prefers to keep out of the frontlines and assesses situations thoroughly before taking action. Unfortunately, such a trait can also make him one who fails to take the initiative when it is needed, occassionally leading to missed opportunities or avoidable challenges. He's also sleepy most of the time. People are constantly urging him to be more proactive in his demeanour, and he works on changing sometimes, albeit half-heartedly.

Appearance: Black hair, 5' 11'' in height, he generally wears a plain suit, though it always appears disheveled and not ironed, giving a look suggesting he just rolled out of bed.

Background: A new arrival to the area, Expo seeks to tighten up the standards in evidence collection and documenting procedures, and bring them up to par with more eminent forensic investigation units.

At the age of twelve, he witnessed the brutal murder of his parents in their own home. The murderer was eventually apprehended, but due to the slip-ups of a few bumbling policemen, the evidence was declared inadmissable and the charges were dropped. The killer walked off a free man.

Since that time, Expo has always been slower to act than most, as he prefers contemplate the situation, then follow procedure to the minutest detail, to avoid losing a case due to a mere technicality.

At one point in time, Expo actually served as a prosecutor- however, he promptly resigned from his position after witnessing firsthand his mentor "doctoring" evidence in order to win a case. Expo saw his mentor's betrayal of his beliefs as the direct result of pressure from higher-ups in the government. He has since chosen to work as a defence attorney, as being in a private firm would thus allow him to act with his own values, and not have the goals of superiors being forced down upon him.
